LO DESCONCERT

Having played together since 2016, performer-composers Sara Cubarsi and Carles Marigó founded Lo Desconcert in 2020. Lo Desconcert is a growing creative collective that interprets both early and new music side-to-side, experimenting with historical instruments, improvising and composing. Lo Desconcert is interested in new concert formats, interdisciplinary collaborations that refresh our perspectives on what early music could do for us tomorrow, and in developing new repertoire for historical instruments.
They have performed at venues such as La Pedrera (Barcelona), WDR Funkhaus (Cologne), Filmforum (Cologne), Bachcelona Festival (Barcelona) and Ventana Köln (Cologne), among other places. They have collaborated with Mariona Mateu-Carles, Stellan Veloce, and Cia RAU (an interdisciplinary dance group founded by Carles Marigó in Barcelona). Lo Desconcert was an ensemble in residence at the Zentrum für Alte Musik Köln in 2020-21.
